CALLING ALL DESIGNERS - APOSTROPHE LAUNCHES DESIGN COMPETITION
Would you like the chance to have your design seen all over central London? Would you like a unique platform to ‘Espresso Yourself’?<br /><br /><br /><br />From November 2010 to January 2011, we’ll be running a special edition winter cup which we want YOU to design. The competition has launched and the deadline for entries is 16th August 2010. <br /><br /><br /><br />The winner of the competition will not only have their design printed on tens of thousands of cups used throughout the winter months, but they will also win £500 worth of art supplies from Cass Art and free coffee for a year from Apostrophe. <br /><br /><br /><br />The judging panel will consist of Emma Farrow, Head of Design at Topshop, and Irene Bradbury, Assistant Director at White Cube gallery. APOSTROPHE AND GALLIC BOOKS GO 'GOURMET'
This month, Apostrophe and Gallic Books are hosting a competition to celebrate the launch of Muriel Barbery’s international bestseller ‘The Gourmet’. Between 28th May and 2nd July, entrants are asked to submit their real life gourmet experience for the chance to win a special weekend for two in London. For their chance to win, entrants are asked to submit, in no more than 500 words, a real life gourmet experience of their own. Apostrophe and Gallic Books will judge the winner based on originality and creativity of the work in relation to the theme required. The winners will be announced on the 16th July. First prize will receive a one night stay in a Deluxe room at the Lancaster London hotel, a pair of tickets to see The 39 Steps at The Criterion in the West End, dinner for two at Pan-Asian restaurant Inamo in Soho and breakfast for two at Apostrophe. Two runners up will receive hampers filled with Apostrophe products. THE APOSTROPHIST SNAPS LONDON'S STYLISH
Apostrophe has decided to pay homage to its customers by documenting the different characters that come through the doors. Inspired by Scott Schuman's 'The Sartorialist' blog, which "turned photo blogging into an art form" (NYT), Apostrophe has launched The Apostrophist. APOSTROPHE LAUNCHES NEW STORE IN HIGH HOLBORN
Apostrophe is launching its new site on High Holborn today. This will be the group’s 16th site and marks a particularly important development in the evolution of its interior design. Designed by renowned consultancy SHH, whose previous projects have included Umu restaurant in Mayfair, Christie's auction house and Adidas, the High Holborn site will include the usual Apostrophe features as well as an executive meeting area. Adorning the walls will be art installation and innovative tile concept, ‘Clouds’, designed by the internationally acclaimed Bouroullec brothers. In keeping with Apostrophe’s philosophy, the new site will focus on quality, freshness and attention to detail, avoiding the contemporary fast food chain cafés that provide pre-packed and refrigerated self service displays.

APOSTROPHE LAUNCH FESTIVE WINDOW DESIGN COMPETITION, WINDOW WONDERLAND, THIS CHRISTMAS
This Christmas, Apostrophe, the London-based boulangerie-patisserie group, is launching Window Wonderland, a competition to design artwork that will be displayed in 11 of Apostrophe’s central-London sites. Open to everyone, but targeted at London’s art schools and creative community, Window Wonderland will launch on 2nd October and will continue through the run up to Christmas, with the 11 selected designs being displayed on Apostrophe’s windows from 16th November to 10th January.
Under the theme of Window Wonderland, entrants will be given free reign in terms of style and subject matter. The 10 shortlisted and 1 winning designs will be printed on vinyl measuring 1.5m2 in size and applied to the windows. A panel of judges, including MD of Apostrophe, Amir Chen, director of renowned art fair Art London, Ralph Ward-Jackson, and Lynda Relph-Knight editor of Design Week, will select the winning designs. Apostrophe is offering generous prizes, including free coffee or tea for one year for the 10 shortlisted designs, and a £1000 prize for the overall winner, granted in the form of either an educational bursary or a charitable contribution.
